Note: the romanisation of the lyricist’s name is uncertain. They used to go under the Twitter screen name 海兎/minamo, so ‘minamo’ is listed here. Their Twitter account name, @miniyuzu, is also listed.

Another Byakuren song with a similar theme. Byakuren is trapped in another world, pining for a person who I assume is her lover. She remembers the promise they made with her, and decides to move forward. The lyrics are short, yet effective!

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

闇の中 光を飲み込んで
一人泣いていた誰も知らない海の底
透き通る冷たさに戸惑い
それでも私は確かな温もり求めて

yami no naka hikari wo nomikonde
hitori naiteita daremo shiranai umi no soko
sukitooru tsumetasa ni tomadoi
soredemo watashi wa tashika na nukumori motomete

In the darkness, I gulp down light.
I had been crying alone, at the bottom of an unknown sea.
Though I am lost in a transparent coldness,
I search for definite warmth…

遠ざかるあの日の約束を手繰り寄せたくて
想い出を拾い集めて
少しずつ誰かの面影を
形作っては胸の奥で光を灯す

toozakaru ano hi no yakusoku wo taguriyosetakute
omoide wo hiroiatsumete
sukoshi zutsu dareka no omokage wo
katachizukutte wa mune no oku de hikari wo tomosu

I want to haul in the promise of that distant day,
And gather up these memories.
Little by little, the face of a certain someone is formed
By lights glowing inside my heart.

此処はまだ光を知らなくて
戸惑いながらも受け入れ始め変わり出す
懐かしき場所へと向かってく
歩み始めたら二つの世界が混ざり合う

koko wa mada hikari wo shiranakute
tomadoi nagara mo ukeire hajime kawaridasu
natsukashiki basho he to mukatteku
ayumi hajimetara futatsu no sekai ga mazariau

Light is still unknown here…
Though I am lost, a change began when I started to accept it.
When I faced towards a nostalgic place,
And began to walk, the two worlds mixed together…
