Some more Diao ye zong goodness. This one, as you’d probably expect, deals with Yuuka – it seems like she’s expressing her love for her flowers, which she watches over, commanding them to grow even larger and even more beautiful. As always, RD does stuff with the Japanese language that I didn’t think was possible, so I’m more than open to suggestions to help make this translation more accurate.

By the way, my translation of the title was basically me making the most of a sentence fragment. It works in Japanese, but not so much in English…

O, beloved things! O, beautiful things!
Bloom, fall, dance, and thus bloom once more – strongly, with dignity.

Even if the round moon is missing,
Let us tastefully arrange the clouds, which have gathered together by chance.

Even if the flowers in full bloom are sent flying,
I shall send my thoughts to where the wind ends, wishing them a safe journey.

As the seasons change, so too does the appearance of those flowers.
I shall gather up their lives and form colours! (1)

Now, I shall make this vast land bloom
Without the help of anyone else.

Appease the earth, large-petalled flowers!
In a place untouched by humans, you are naturally in full bloom.

–Such a world is beautiful, no matter where you look.

As long as I am alive,
I assume the colour of those flowers, which will not be lost to distant eternity,
And am immortal.

I only watch over you.

Things that have been born and things that begin to wither and die
Form a single circle, and I must be within it.

Though they may look the same, I will never encounter
Something that is the same as this ever again. That figure is a glorious kaleidoscope.

At the end of the seasons, once more,
I restore that life anew, giving birth to colours. (1)

Come, now, I shall return you to the sky
Without the help of anyone else

Dance through the heavens, large-petalled flowers!
Everything will pass away and return to that place, where humans cannot reach.

–Such a world is beloved, no matter where you look.

Transient things
Enhance the colours of flowers, which will not be lost to distant eternity,
And are called ‘eternal.’

I only watch over you.

…I am closer to you than anyone, as a friend.
I shall become your avatar, your symbol, as myself.

–Once before, those beloved things were born
And they dreamed of beautiful things.

Blossom in glory, large-petalled flowers!
Without lacking anything, without being competed against,
Release a radiance brighter than any danmaku! (2)

Ah, with dignity,
I bewitch the colours of those flowers, which will not be lost to distant eternity,
And make them last forever.

I only watch over you.

Bloom, fall, dance,
And thus, when you arrive at the end of your long journey,
Bloom once more – strongly, with dignity.

I only watch over you.

(1) ‘Life’  (命 – ‘inochi’) is written towards the start of this line, but ‘Colours’ (色- ‘iro’) is sung.
(2) ‘Danmaku’ (弾幕) is written, but ‘Skill’ (技 – ‘waza’) is sung.
